About Us

Cherlafay Catering is Cheryl Staley Carden. Cheryl received her degree in Culinary Technology from Alamance Community College and has taken additional cake decorating courses. She was the "Best in Show" winner in the college's 2002 culinary competition. The facility she maintains has received four consecutive Sanitation scores of 101.5% as inspected by the Alamance County Division of the NC Board of Health. Cheryl is an appointee to The Family and Consumer Science Advisory Committee of the NC Cooperative Extension Service in Alamance County.

Cheryl is well experienced in helping customers plan special events. She has prepared food for church events, civic groups, corporate clients, wedding, anniversaries and birthday's. Alamance Community College from which she graduated has employed Cheryl to cater luncheons for their Board of Trustees and Foundation Board meetings. Cherlafay is also one of the preferred caterers for Courtyard by Marriott in Burlington, NC and Country Suites in Burlington, NC.

Recent Events include working with three of the four premier wineries in Alamance County. Cherlafay has prepared a wine maker's dinner for Benjamin Vineyards near Saxapahaw, Creekside Winery of Elon and The Grove Winery in Guilford County serving such interesting cuisine as ostrich and rabbit.
Cherlafay also was invited to participate in the bridal show organized by the Winery at Irongate Farms outside of Mebane. The guests, vendors and winery owners were very impressed with the appearance and taste of the finger foods buffet.

Cherlafay Catering was featured in a Times News Article dated December 24, 2005. Since that time Cherlafay is now solely owned by Cheryl Carden.
